When I decide to buy something—and I mean anything—that's really only the start of the process. For the next few hours (to days), I dig into nearly every product review I can find, like a neo-noir private investigator getting dirt on water allocations in the Los Angeles area.

While my method is a little unhinged, it's really not far off from how normal people shop. Your customers have access to Google Reviews, Yelp, Amazon, and user-generated content (UGC) all over social media. If they come across a string of positive reviews, you're golden; if not, they may have already moved on to your competitor.

Review management software can help you collect, analyze, and manage these reviews across your online presence, so you can drive more positive reinforcement. In an effort to help you look as good online as you do in person, I've compiled a list of my favorite tools on the market, based on extensive research, testing, and, yes, reviews.

How we evaluate and test apps

Our best apps roundups are written by humans who've spent much of their careers using, testing, and writing about software. Unless explicitly stated, we spend dozens of hours researching and testing apps, using each app as it's intended to be used and evaluating it against the criteria we set for the category. We're never paid for placement in our articles from any app or for links to any site—we value the trust readers put in us to offer authentic evaluations of the categories and apps we review. Review management software sounds simple. It's not. As it turns out, tools in this space range from single-use Google Review boosters to full enterprise platforms that monitor 250+ sites across thousands of locations and generate AI-powered predictive analytics. That's kind of like comparing your favorite food truck to a Michelin-star restaurant. Both serve food; that's where the similarities end.

To make sure I was evaluating each tool fairly (and for the right reasons), I used four criteria that I think actually matter:

  • Multichannel capabilities: Review management only works if you're covering the channels where your customers live. I looked at how many channels each tool monitors, how it aggregates that data, and how well it integrates with the other software in your tech stack.

  • Automation: Nobody has time to manually search for reviews or draft responses from scratch. That would be a nightmare. So, I looked for tools that automate review requests via email and SMS, offer AI-assisted or templated responses, and support follow-up sequences that keep the conversation going without requiring a human to babysit the process.

  • Reporting: The best review management tools help you understand what your data means, rather than just plopping some numbers in front of you and saying, "good luck!" I prioritized platforms that offer sentiment analysis, clear data reporting, and reputation tracking, giving you a real picture of how your brand is perceived over time.

  • Usability: A tool that requires a six-week implementation and a dedicated IT expert to maintain sounds worse than accepting your 1-star review fate. I considered ease of setup, how intuitive the interface is for day-to-day use, and whether the platform can scale as a business grows without completely reinventing the workflow.

Of course, review management doesn't live in a silo. Bazaarvoice is kind of the sultan of review management software. It's old, it's respected, and it's been around long enough (with results to match) to earn the trust of brands that want to sell through multiple retail channels.

The product is most known for its retail syndication network. It connects to 2,300+ partner sites, including Target product pages, Walmart listings, and Best Buy, and ensures your customer reviews are sent to all of them. This is hard to replicate in other products, and it's perfect for larger businesses looking to increase their (positive) digital footprint. The platform also handles visual UGC—think photo and video reviews from customers and social media pages—and syndicates it alongside written reviews, which makes for a much more eye-catching blurb than just a few stars and a few sentences.

The analytics are built for teams that need to hand-deliver a status update every week. You can break performance down by product, retail partner, region, and over time. There's also a Q&A area for managing product page questions.

One of the biggest gripes here is that Bazaarvoice isn't plug-and-play. Users consistently report that setup required significant developer involvement, with some claiming the interface hasn't had a serious redesign since Obama's first term. It's also enterprise-priced, so if you're a small team without dedicated resources to onboard and maintain it, you may find yourself floatin' down Schitt's Creek.

That said, if your reviews need to travel across a retail network at scale, nothing on this list does that particular job better.

Running review management across a multi-location business sounds about as appealing as a root canal. You've got a few locations generating outstanding Google reviews, Facebook ratings, and industry-specific feedback, while other stores a few cities over look like a digital ghost town. Birdeye leans into this problem, helping businesses like franchises, healthcare groups, and automotive dealerships standardize their reviews. 

Users can access a centralized dashboard that pulls in reviews from 200+ platforms and filters by location, star rating, source, or time period. Teams can also connect to 3,000+ integrations to make sure review management is part of their entire workflow, not just an annoying, random task.

BirdAI is the feature that caught my eye the most; it's the product's proprietary AI engine that teams can use to automate just about anything. You can use it to analyze customer sentiment, update and manage SEO listings, respond to reviews, and even message customers across multiple channels, all from one central dashboard. It can even act as a little sales rep, chatting and trying to convert your website visitors. The latter seems a little tacked-on for a review management platform, but hey, smoke 'em if you got 'em, right?

The reporting features are another key differentiator. Real-time sentiment analysis (powered by BirdAI) breaks down customer perception by location, flags recurring themes across your reviews, and lets you benchmark each location's performance against the others. For example, if your suburban location is consistently drawing complaints about wait times while your downtown one is getting five stars for fast service, Birdeye surfaces that, so your area manager can hold an impromptu training session. 

Birdeye is a full platform covering reviews, surveys, social, listings, and webchat, so if you only need review management, you're paying for a lot of real estate you won't use. For a solo location or a lean team with straightforward needs, other tools on this list will get you most of the way there for significantly less.

But for businesses that need a real system across multiple locations, Birdeye is about as complete as it gets. If you want to do even more with the platform, integrate it with Zapier to sync the app with your entire tech stack, so you can build end-to-end review management workflows.

I've always thought the term "one-trick pony" is a little derogatory—as in, this person or this thing can only do one thing. Well, maybe it's time to break that mold because Okendo is a one-trick pony, but that trick is really, really good.

Okendo is a consumer marketing platform built specifically for Shopify eCommerce brands. The integration itself is seamless, the widgets are fast, and everything plays nicely with the other tools that may already be in your Shopify merchant's stack.

The review collection goes off pretty smoothly. Post-purchase, Okendo automatically triggers a review request via email or SMS with timing you can customize, and incoming reviews land in a moderation queue where you can approve, flag, tag, or respond. Verified reviews can then be syndicated to Google Shopping, Bazaarvoice, TikTok, and retail partner pages, which extends the reach of social proof beyond your own content.

As an SEO expert (yes, I'm talking about myself now), I found the AI toolkit to be a breath of fresh air. The app can use your review data to boost AI discoverability for LLMs like OpenAI and Gemini, generate alt text for product review images, auto-generate searchable keywords within the reviews themselves, and automatically moderate your entire review machine. Maybe this pony has more than one trick, after all.

The callout, again, is that Okendo is Shopify-first, so if you're on another platform, you won't get the same experience. For Shopify brands, though, it's a fantastic option.

Reputation is kind of like Birdeye's brother, who went to medical school and now works as an anesthesiologist in Boston. While Birdeye is great for multi-location businesses, Reputation is built for brands managing potentially thousands of locations. 

The platform can aggregate reviews from 250+ sources into a single dashboard, with location-level filtering that lets enterprise teams focus on individual stores, practices, or dealerships without getting lost in data. Real-time alerts ensure no critical reviews are missed, and response management tools let teams reply directly from the platform rather than logging in to Google Business, Yelp, and a dozen other sites.

In my eyes, the most impressive part of Reputation is the analytics layer, specifically the Reputation Score. This shapeshifting, terrifying number is essentially a big "credit score" for your business; it combines volume, star ratings, response rates, sentiment, and even operational signals into a single data point. Using this data, AI can flag any troubling trends—say, if the Scottsdale locations are dropping in service—and give you predictive recommendations to bring performance and customer sentiment back to baseline.

As you may have already guessed, Reputation is not a tool for the mom-and-pop diner or a three-person marketing team. It's best utilized by a dedicated RevOps or marketing team with the time and resources to match. But if you're overseeing a national healthcare group or a franchise conglomerate where a half-star drop in ratings can signal a "red alert" email, Reputation is built for that.

The pricing is outstanding, so I feel the need to call it out. REVIEWS.io publishes its plans openly, starting at $29/month and scaling up to $500/month for businesses that need higher invite volumes, advanced automation, and AI-powered sentiment analysis. For a tool category where "talk to sales" is incredibly common, being able to figure out your budget before you have an awkward sales meeting is a big plus.

Speaking of AI-powered, REVIEWS.io does a good job in this area, given the price point. You can use it to deliver review summaries, reply to customers, and gain insight into consumer sentiment with AI-generated surveys. Though again, these features are only included in the highest tiers.

Overall, for businesses with moderate volume and a clear focus on Google Search performance, REVIEWS.io is a compelling and fairly priced option.

You should always keep an eye on your reviews; if that were up for debate, I wouldn't have typed all these words. But are you keeping an eye on your competitor's reviews? That's a much more intriguing question.

So, if there's a chain of restaurants in your city that are outperforming you in every metric, you can don your best Jake Gittes trench coat and find out what all of the fuss is about.

TrueReview is a lean, straightforward review management tool perfect for small and medium businesses. It doesn't do anything too flashy, but it hits all of the non-negotiables: it helps teams ask customers for reviews, follow up, and do something useful with any high praise.

It's pretty easy to set up a review request system: just import your contacts, set up your branded SMS or email campaigns, and let the smart drip sequences do the heavy lifting automatically. Customers who don't respond to the first request get a nudge; review tagging and filtering keep things organized as responses come in, and AI-generated response suggestions help you send out your thank-you notes.

The AI Review insights and summary feature automatically processes your incoming reviews and surfaces trends and recurring themes. So, if your customers keep mentioning the same product defect or service issue, you'll know about it. 

The social review post generator is a feature I found particularly useful. At first glance, Reviewflowz seems pretty barebones. The website is clean, but nothing to write home about; the capabilities are cool, but nothing special. Then something clicks, and it's kind of like you just flipped over a rock and found a bunch of bugs and substance under there.

You can do a lot of the things in Reviewflowz that you can do with the other tools on this list. A review monitoring dashboard aggregates reviews from all your sources to give you a full picture of performance over time. You can reply directly to your reviews from the tool (or from Slack), use AI to assist in writing responses, or take over the entire process with AI-generated conversations. 

Where Reviewflowz differs a bit is in some extra capabilities I didn't really find elsewhere. One thing that made me take a legitimate pause is that you can connect your account to ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude via the MCP server. So rather than searching through your dashboards, individual reviews, or reports, you can just go over to Claude and find all the information you need directly in the chat window. In other words, rather than searching for 10 minutes to find which staff member gets mentioned the most in your reviews, you could just ask Claude and get that information in 8 seconds.

The platform also offers a wealth of capabilities tailored for SaaS companies. For example, the G2 tracking module allows teams to monitor position, rating, and grid scores across every G2 category you compete in, track how competitors are fluctuating, and measure the actual impact of a review campaign on your rank. Given how important G2 is to software companies, I'd be giddy if this applied to me or my business.

Reviewflowz has a low entry point, but to make the most of everything it offers, you'll probably have to hover around $100/month. But for a company that wants to dip into true review automation—or any SaaS company—it's a powerful tool. And if you'd like to push your limits even further, you can integrate Reviewflowz with Zapier to build workflow automations across your tech stack and keep your review management process running on autopilot.

You're focused on reviews, but are you doing loyalty programs, too? They're basically two sides of the same customer acquisition coin: positive feedback gets consumers in the door, loyalty initiatives can keep them around and turn them into advocates. Yotpo helps you do both in one clean experience. 

The review collection features cover pretty much everything you'd expect. Post-purchase requests are sent automatically, and the collection widget supports text, photo, and video reviews, with AI prompts that nudge customers to submit useful content. If what they submit isn't useful, moderation tools like spam detection and profanity filters can intercept them before your spaces start looking like a late-night comedy show.

I won't spend much real estate on the loyalty side, but it's worth a quick shoutout. One of the impressive things here is that review activity and loyalty data share the same customer profile. So, for example, a customer who uploads a photo review can automatically earn points, a reviewer who keeps engaging can be moved to a higher tier, and a customer whose sentiment has turned pear-shaped can be flagged for a recovery flow. That creates a deeper connection, making it a little easier for customers to transition from happy client to brand advocate.

One of my favorite features here is the Reviews Atlas, a dashboard that analyzes sentiment trends across your products and highlights recurring themes. It even provides a "health score" for your review program and benchmarks your performance against competitors.
